Studio Dragon’s ‘Crash Landing on You’ to Premiere Worldwide on Dec. 14th - Depicting the Reality of a Divided Nation, Korea

A drama that reflects Korea’s situation as a divided nation is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix.
‘Crash Landing on You’ is about a female paraglider who crash lands on North Korea before meeting and falling in love with a North Korean soldier. This drama was planned and produced by Korea’s drama studio, ‘Studio Dragon’.
Being written by the immensely popular drama writer ‘Park Ji-eun‘, whose works immaculately combine fantasy and reality, and starring actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin was enough for ‘Crash Landing on You’ to attract great attention. The drama depicts a top-secret love story between the heir of a conglomerate Yoon Se-ri (played by Son Ye-jin) who crash lands on North Korea due to a paragliding accident and a North Korean officer Ri Jeong Hyeok (played by Hyun Bin) who risks his life to hide and protect her before falling in love.
Since ‘Crash Landing on You’ is a story about a woman who crash lands on North Korea unexpectedly, the drama was filmed in various South Korean locations such as Jeju Island and Chungju, as well as foreign locations like Switzerland and Mongolia, in order to express the natural landscape of North Korea.
Park Ji-eun has written various dramas including ‘My Love from the Star’, ‘The Producers’, and ‘Legend of the Blue Sea’. Director Lee Jeong-hyo has shown sophisticated directive techniques that are not limited to any single genre through works such as ‘Good Wife’, ‘Life on Mars’, and ‘Romance is a Bonus Book’. On top of this, the collaboration between actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin has raised the expectations for ‘Crash Landing on You’ to be one of the best dramas in the second half of 2019.
Studio Dragon's 'Crash Landing on You' is to be released on Netflix. In Asia, Latin America, and English-speaking countries, each episode will be available after regular broadcast. In Japan and Europe, all episodes will be released at once on February 16th.
